Advertise on the Steam bot list
Six banner slots sit at the top of every page of the bot list, where traders come looking for a bot. A slot costs 1 TF2 key a week, and your first advert runs thirty days free.
2. Send it for review
- Open Advertise and sign in.
- Paste the banner’s address and the https page it should open when clicked, then send it.
A person looks at every banner before it goes live, usually within a day. We keep our own copy of the picture we approved and show that, so changing the file on your server later does not change your advert. For a new picture, send a new advert.
3. Going live, and the free month
Your first advert runs thirty days free, counted from the day we approve it, not the day you sent it. One free month per person. If your first advert is turned down, the free month is not used up.
4. How the slots are ordered
Everybody is treated the same, and there is no bidding:
- Paid adverts go first, then free ones.
- Within each, the first to arrive keeps the earlier slot.
- One advert per advertiser. With all six slots taken, the next advert waits for a free one.
The Advertise page shows which slots are taken and whether anybody is waiting.
5. Paying for it
After the free month, an advert is paid in TF2 keys from your key bank. Add keys on the Key Bank page: send TF2 keys to our trade link with the message it shows you. It costs 1 TF2 key a week and is charged only for the time it is actually on the page. When the keys on it run out it comes off the page, and adding keys puts it straight back on.
Need TF2 keys? Buy them at Gameza Level Up, the TF2 key shop run by the same people as SteamTradeX.
If we ever take an advert down, the whole keys still on it go back to your key bank.
Questions
Where does the banner show?
At the top of every page of the bot list, in all categories, on phones and computers.
Can I advertise something that is not a Steam bot?
Yes, if it is something traders would want and it is honest: a shop, a group, a Discord server. Scams and anything that imitates Steam are turned down, and an advert can be taken down later if we learn it misleads people.
Can I see how my advert is doing?
The Advertise page shows your advert’s slot and how long its keys will last.
