What this service does, what you agree to while using it, and what happens when either side stops holding up its end.
SteamTradeX does four things. It runs a public directory where anybody can list a bot they run themselves, for free. It runs a list of card suppliers who sell to bot owners. It sells the banner slots at the top of that directory. And it sells a licence to run its bot on your own server.
We do not run your bot or your shop. The rates it trades at, the stock it holds and the deals it offers are yours to set, and the trades it makes are yours.
A bot must run on a dedicated Steam account created for that purpose. Never a personal main account. The account you play on, hold games on, or have anything of value on, is not a bot account and must not be used as a bot.
This is not a formality. A bot account stays signed in to Steam, holds live sessions, and accepts offers automatically. Any account doing that carries risk, and the way to keep that risk survivable is for the account to hold nothing you would mind losing.
The account stays yours. You are responsible for keeping it in good standing with Valve, including its Steam Guard and its mobile authenticator.
Listing a bot on the directory is free. Only list a bot you run. A person reads every listing before it appears, and we take down any listing that misleads the people trading with it.
A live listing can be featured for 1 TF2 key a week, paid from your key bank. It is then shown again in a Featured table above the full list on its page, until the time you bought runs out. It stays in the full list either way.
There are 6 banner slots, and the same 6 appear on every page of the directory. An advert costs 1 TF2 key a week, drawn from the keys you put on it, and only while it is on the page. Keys left on an advert stay on that advert.
Your first advert is free for thirty days, counted from the day we approve it, once per person. Paid adverts are placed above free ones. A person reads every banner before it appears, and we may turn one down or take one off the page, with the reason.
The bot script is our own bot, sold as a licence to run it on your own server. It costs 30 TF2 keys, paid once and in full from your key bank when you buy it. There is no monthly or yearly fee. The licence is for life, and so are updates: every update is included, at no extra cost, for as long as SteamTradeX runs.
One licence runs on one server at a time, with as many bots on that server as you like. To move it to another server, reset it from Bot Script in your dashboard: you have 3 resets in any 30 days. Freeing the licence when you uninstall is not a reset, unless another server takes the licence within 7 days. The server it moved away from finishes the trades it has open and stops starting new ones 72 hours later.
Your bot keeps trading when it cannot reach SteamTradeX. Only a signed answer from us changes what it does, so an outage on our side, or a connection you block, never stops it. Updates need a successful licence check in the last 7 days. What the bot sends us for that check is set out in the privacy policy.
There is no refund on request. If the bot does not work on your server and our support cannot make it work, staff refund the full price you paid to your key bank, never to Steam. A refunded licence ends for good and is never reinstated: to use the bot again, buy a new licence.
You run it. Your server, the Steam accounts you give the bot, their secrets, your rates and your trades are yours to look after, and we do not promise that it runs without interruption. Do not share, sell or copy the script or your licence key, and do not remove its licence check.
If SteamTradeX ever closes, a final version that needs no licence check is released first, so the bot you paid for keeps working. The full licence terms come with the bot, in LICENSE.txt, and where they differ from this summary, they win.
Every TF2 key somebody you referred spends with us earns you 10 points, and every 170 points becomes 1 TF2 key in your key bank. Only keys they deposited count, not keys they were given.
Referring yourself, or running accounts to earn points from your own spending, is not allowed. We check for it, and we may pause an account's referral points or take points back. Keys already paid out are not taken back, but no more are paid until the points catch up.
Do not use a bot listed here, or our bot script, to scam anybody. That includes offers built to be misread, rates advertised in one place and applied in another, and any trade set up so the other party ends up with less than they agreed to.
Do not use it for fraud of any kind: items obtained through stolen accounts, payments reversed after a trade settles, or laundering items through a bot to break a trail.
Do not use it to impersonate Valve, Steam, this service, or another trader.
When there is credible evidence of any of the above we take the listing and any advert down, and we may revoke a bot script licence, without waiting for a grace period.
TF2 keys are the only thing we accept. We do not take cards or crypto, and there is no payment form on this site: keys arrive as a Steam trade offer and are credited when you accept it.
Keys sit in your key bank until you spend them on featuring, adverts or the bot script. What each costs is on the pricing page and in the sections above.
We keep this site, the directory and the licence service running. We do not control Steam. Trading stops when Steam stops, and Valve can change how trading works, rate limit an account, or restrict one, at any time and without telling either of us first.
Nothing here is a promise about how Steam behaves.
SteamTradeX is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Valve Corporation in any way. Steam, the Steam logo, Team Fortress 2 and every other mark named here belong to Valve.
We speak for this service and for nobody else. If something on this site reads like it came from Valve, it did not.
When these terms change in a way that affects what you may do or what you pay, we say so in the panel and by email before the change applies. Fixing a typo is not that kind of change.
